On the sidelines of the VIII Congress of the Vientiane Capital Party Organization, Mr. Khanthong Sipaserd, President of the 3F Lao Sustainable Agriculture Cooperative, told media that the cooperative has the potential to generate employment for up to 5,000 workers and to help alleviate poverty among its members.

Established in 2022, the 3F Lao Sustainable Agriculture Cooperative brings together entrepreneurs and community members, with a strong focus on livestock farming. Its members raise pigs, cattle, fish, and chickens to supply protein to local markets. In addition, the cooperative promotes corn cultivation for animal feed and collects raw materials for feed factories. Recently, it has expanded to promote orange cultivation for export markets and has begun developing value-added products such as noni and yanang leaf jelly, along with other processed goods.
Mr. Khanthong explained that the cooperative supports its members by providing both technical expertise and market access. “We help people grow, and we guarantee a market for their products,” he said. The cooperative operates under the Lao Agricultural Business Association of the National Chamber of Commerce and Industry, giving members access to purchasing markets, seed varieties, cultivation techniques, livestock management methods, and financial resources.
Currently, the cooperative has nearly 30 members managing about 2,000 hectares of farmland across several provinces. Activities include rice, corn, cassava, and other crops, ranging from easy-to-grow to more demanding varieties. The cooperative also supplies seeds, fertilizers, and animal feed, providing support throughout the entire production cycle.
According to Mr. Khanthong, this integrated model not only supports sustainable agriculture but also creates steady jobs and contributes to rural poverty reduction across Laos.
