ຂປລ The closing ceremony of the Seminar for Omnimedia Editors and Journalists from ASEAN countries and Nepal took place on September 28 in Beijing, China, marking the conclusion of the collaborative media exchange program.

The event was attended by Mr. Li Hengtian, Deputy Director of the CICG Advanced Institute of International Studies and Training, who highlighted the significance of the program, organized by the Ministry of Commerce of the People’s Republic of China as part of its foreign assistance initiatives.

According to Mr. Li, the seminar is designed to strengthen exchanges and cooperation between China and developing countries. Through lectures, discussions, field visits, and cultural experiences, participants gained insights into China’s development policies, achievements since its reform and opening-up, and lessons learned in governance, socio-economic growth, and international cooperation. He emphasized that such programs serve as bridges of friendship and mutual understanding between China and other nations.

Over the course of three weeks, participants took part in thematic lectures and study visits in Beijing and Yunnan Province, including Dali City. Chinese officials, scholars, and media experts provided in-depth perspectives on China’s social and economic development, foreign policy strategies, and media industry. Field visits also offered opportunities to explore cultural heritage, environmental protection practices, and sustainable tourism models.

Speaking on behalf of the participants, Mr. Panyasith Thammavongsa expressed gratitude to the Government of China, the Ministry of Commerce, and the seminar organizers for their hospitality and support. He noted that the program provided valuable knowledge about China’s governance and development journey, while also deepening professional exchanges among ASEAN and Nepali media representatives.

Mr. Panyasith highlighted visits to the Chinese Communist Party Museum and Dali City as particularly meaningful. The museum visit offered participants a vivid narrative of modern China’s history, resilience, and achievements, while the field trip to Dali demonstrated the integration of environmental protection with economic and community development.

He emphasized that lessons learned from the seminar will help ASEAN and Nepali media professionals to better understand China’s role in regional and global affairs and to promote narratives of peace, cooperation, and sustainable development.

The program concluded with a call to strengthen partnerships and enhance collaboration between ASEAN countries, Nepal, and China in the field of media and beyond.
