KPL The Standing Committee of the National Assembly has approved the transfer of Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Saleumxay Kommasith to the Prime Minister's Office, where he will serve as Deputy Prime Minister.


(KPL) The Standing Committee of the National Assembly has approved the transfer of Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Saleumxay Kommasith to the Prime Minister's Office, where he will serve as Deputy Prime Minister.
During the 8th Ordinary Session of the 9th National Assembly which was opened on November 18, National Assembly Vice President Sounthone Sayachak announced the decision, which was made during an Extraordinary Session of the Standing Committee.
The transfer follows a proposal by Prime Minister Sonexay Siphandone on November 12, 2024, regarding Cabinet member appointments and transfers. The resolution was subsequently endorsed by the Standing Committee of the National Assembly during its Extraordinary Session on November 15, 2024.
The Standing Committee has formally approved the proposed changes, ensuring alignment with the Prime Minister’s recommendations. 
The National Assembly also approved the appointment of Mr. Thongsavanh Phomvihane as the new Minister of Foreign Affairs succeeding Mr. Saleumxay Kommasith.
