(KPL) Party Secretary General and State President Thongloun Sisoulith extended his heartfelt New Year’s greetings to Lao citizens of all ethnicities and walks of life.

In a message marking the transition from 2024 to 2025, the President extended his best wishes on behalf of the Party, the State, and himself to all Lao people at home and abroad.

His message also addressed foreign friends residing and working in Laos, as well as leaders and citizens of friendly nations.

The President acknowledged the challenges the nation faced in 2024, emphasizing the collective resilience and unity of the Party and the people. Despite obstacles, the successful implementation of the 11th Party Congress resolution and the 9th Five-Year National Socio-Economic Development Plan ensured political stability, social harmony, and economic progress.

The President highlighted Laos' successful chairmanship of ASEAN in 2024, describing it as a milestone of national pride and a reflection of the country’s growing international stature. He expressed deep gratitude to Lao citizens and international partners for their cooperation and support, which were instrumental in overcoming challenges and achieving these achievements.

President Thongloun noted that 2025 will be a pivotal year as Laos approaches the final phase of the 11th Party Congress resolutions and the 9th Five-Year National Socio-Economic Development Plan.

He urged all Party members, government officials, armed forces, and general public to unite and work with determination to achieve national goals.

"As we commemorate significant milestones in our nation’s history, let us remain steadfast in our collective efforts to build a strong, independent, and prosperous Laos," the President stated.

The President concluded his address with a wish for peace, happiness, and prosperity for all Lao people and their families in the year ahead.

This message of unity and determination sets a hopeful tone for the country as it embraces the opportunities and challenges of 2025.
