(KPL) Mr. Boua-ngeun Houmxayaphom, Vice Governor of Xieng Khuang Province, and his team inspected the repair works of the Nam Ngum River bridge at Ban Ladbuak on January 8, 2025. The bridge collapsed on December 2, 2024.
Mr. Boua-ngeun emphasized the urgent need for the bridge repairs, noting its critical role as a major transportation route. It facilitates the movement of goods, especially during the harvest season when crops such as rice and cassava must be transported.
He stressed the importance of ensuring continuous traffic flow and avoiding disruptions to the local economy.
The provincial administration awarded the repair contract to Phengxay Housing and Road Construction Company, with a project cost of over 2 billion kip. The repaired bridge will support a load capacity of up to 15 tons and is expected to be operational by the end of this month.
On this occasion, Mr. Boua-ngeun expressed gratitude to the company for its swift and dedicated actions to repair the bridge promptly, ensuring minimal impact on transportation and local livelihoods.
