Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Lin Jian welcomed the negotiations between the United States and Iran, but reminded Washington that, as a country that unilaterally abandoned the deal and contributed to the current situation, it must demonstrate political commitment and mutual respect.
In the current context, Lin urged all parties concerned to move towards constructive dialogue to avoid an escalation of tensions.
The spokesperson called on Washington to abandon the practices of military threats and extreme pressure, which he described as counterproductive.
On the trilateral consultation by Iran, Russia, and China held in Moscow on April 7-8, Lin reiterated Beijing’s support for this diplomatic effort.
He stated, “We support Russia’s initiative to organize this experts’ meeting, which seeks to push for a political and diplomatic solution to the Iranian nuclear issue.”
The spokesperson noted that China will continue to coordinate with all parties to promote a settlement that takes into account the legitimate concerns of all players.
