Laos Fashion Week Wraps Up With Top Five Young Designers Announced

KPL The 11th Lao Fashion Week 2024 was wrapped up on Friday’s night following the announcement of the top five Lao Young Designers 2024 and the showcasing of more than 100 collections of domestic and international designers.

(KPL) The 11^th Lao Fashion Week 2024 was wrapped up on Friday’s night following the announcement of the top five Lao Young Designers 2024 and the showcasing of more than 100 collections of domestic and international designers.

Lao Fashion Week 2024 was held between Oct 1 and 4 at the Parkson Vientiane.

Ms Souksavanh Manivongxay won the first place of Lao Young Designer 2024. As the first prize winner, she has been granted a scholarship for an intensive six-month course at ESMOD, a well-known private school of fashion in Paris, France.

The first runner-up of the event was Mr Southiphong Luangphonh. He was awarded a scholarship for a six-month course at the Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts in Singapore.

Ms Lodchana Phouthavong is set to spend a year studying at the London College of Design and Fashion’s Hanoi campus.

A 2-month course at Manila’s Fashion Institute of Philippines followed by 2 months interning with designers awaits Ms Veomany Siriphone.

Thai designers Pitnapat and Eaggamon in Bangkok will play host to two months of training for Ms Nutnaly Phomhiennam.

The SEADRIF Insurance Company made a record total payout of US$3 million following the passage of Typhoon Yagi, which caused severe flooding in the Lao PDR. The extended flood impact triggered a second payout of $2.25 million on Monday, 30 September.
