Vientiane, April 8, The Ministry of Public Security (MOPS) hosted a ceremony on Monday to commemorate the 64th anniversary of the founding of the Lao Security Force (April 5, 1961 – April 5, 2025). The event was presided over by Politburo member, Deputy Prime Minister, and Minister of Public Security, Lt. Gen Vilay Lakhamfong, with the participation of senior ministry officials, veterans, departmental representatives, and core personnel.

On April 7, 2025, Deputy Prime Minister Saleumxay Kommasith, on behalf of Prime Minister Sonexay Siphandone, the Siphandone family, and the multi-ethnic people of Laos, received Thai Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Transport, Mr. Suriya Jungrungreangkit, and his delegation at the Prime Minister's Office in Vientiane. The Thai delegation was in Laos to attend the national funeral of General Khamtay Siphandone, former President of the Lao PDR.
