Lao Leadership Families Provide Aid to Myanmar Earthquake Victims

ຂປລ The leadership families of the Lao People's Democratic Republic have extended humanitarian assistance to Myanmar in the wake of a devastating earthquake. At a ceremony held at the Ministry of National Defense on April 1, a donation of cash and essential supplies was officially handed over to aid efforts in the neighboring country.

(KPL)  The leadership families of the Lao People's Democratic Republic have extended humanitarian assistance to Myanmar in the wake of a devastating earthquake. At a ceremony held at the Ministry of National Defense on April 1, a donation of cash and essential supplies was officially handed over to aid efforts in the neighboring country.

Leading the initiative, First Lady Naly Sisoulith, wife of the Lao President, presented financial contributions and relief supplies to the Ministry of National Defense. The aid package, intended to support Myanmar's recovery from the disaster, was received by Lieutenant General Somphone Mittaphone, Head of the Ministry's Office, along with senior officials.

The relief effort included a donation of 328 million Lao Kip from the party-state leadership families, an additional 500 million Kip from PSL Service Sole Co., Ltd., and essential supplies valued at 150 million Kip.

In his remarks, Lieutenant General Somphone expressed gratitude for the generous support, highlighting the strong ties between Laos and Myanmar. He emphasized that the assistance reflects a deep spirit of solidarity and longstanding friendship between the two nations.

"This humanitarian support demonstrates the sincere goodwill and unity between our countries. It reaffirms the strong relationship we have built over the years," he stated. He also extended best wishes for the continued prosperity of those who contributed to the relief effort.

The donation underscores Laos' commitment to regional solidarity and cooperation, as the country stands with Myanmar during this challenging time.
