(KPL) The Lao PDR’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Thongsavanh Phomvihane, joined his Vietnamese and Cambodian counterparts, Mr. Bui Thanh Son and Mr. Prak Sokhonn, respectively, for a working breakfast to discuss trilateral cooperation.

The meeting, held at Cambodia’s invitation, took place on the sidelines of the ASEAN Foreign Ministers’ Meeting, the 46th ASEAN Summit, and related events in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, from May 24–27, 2025.

During the discussions, the three ministers acknowledged the longstanding tradition of solidarity and close cooperation among Laos, Vietnam, and Cambodia. They reviewed the positive outcomes of past collaboration and reaffirmed their commitment to further strengthening trilateral relations, particularly among their foreign ministries.

The ministers explored various areas of mutual interest, including the effective implementation of agreements reached during recent high-level meetings—such as the tripartite Party leaders’ and Prime Ministers’ meetings in February.

They emphasized the importance of maintaining regular coordination and supporting relevant ministries and sectors in each country to ensure the continued success of these initiatives.

Key areas of future cooperation include national defense and security, economic and tourism integration, information exchange, mutual support, and collaborative efforts on regional and international issues.

In conclusion, the three foreign ministers expressed deep gratitude for the continued commitment and contributions of all parties toward promoting peace, friendship, and mutual prosperity.

They voiced their shared hope that the strong tradition of cooperation among Laos, Vietnam, and Cambodia will continue to grow and bring tangible benefits to the peoples of all three nations.
