(KPL) The Lao Youth Union of Attapeu Province held the event “Tracing the Revolutionary Stronghold Trail in Southern Laos” on February 28, 2025, in Ban Oudomxay, Sanamxay district, Attapeu Province.

The activity aimed to raise awareness among youth and young pioneers about the sacrifices and dedication of revolutionary leaders in the struggle for national liberation.

The event was part of celebrations marking the 70th anniversary of the Lao Youth Union (April 14, 1955–2025) and the 70th anniversary of the Lao People’s Revolutionary Party (March 22, 1955–2025).

Among the participants were Mr. Phovanh Phommachanh, Secretary of the Youth Union of Attapeu Province, over 500 Youth Union members and young pioneers, as well as representatives from relevant provincial authorities.

Addressing the gathering, Mr. Viengthong Viengphachanh, former Deputy Party Secretary and former Deputy Governor of Attapeu, paid tribute to the heroic deeds of past revolutionaries who fought against colonial powers for national independence.

“They devoted themselves wholeheartedly to the revolution, expecting nothing in return. Their unwavering commitment led to victory, and they became spiritual leaders of the Party, the State, and the multiethnic people,” he said.

As part of the event, participants also engaged in a sack race competition.
