(KPL) The Vietnamese Embassy in Vientiane, in collaboration with business community, organized a singing contest at the National Cultural Hall, Vientiane, on May 16-17 to commemorate the 135th birth anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh, Vietnam’s revered revolutionary leader.

President Ho Chi Minh, the founding father of modern Vietnam, was a visionary revolutionary, a beloved leader of the Vietnamese working class, and a prominent figure in the international communist and national liberation movements.

Participants delivered heartfelt performances, showcasing songs and dances that honored Ho Chi Minh’s legacy, celebrated Vietnamese patriotism, and highlighted the enduring friendship and solidarity between Laos and Vietnam.

The event featured singing and dancing performances by Vietnamese people residing in the Lao PDR. Distinguished attendees included Deputy Prime Minister Kikeo Khaykhamphithoune, Head of the Party Central Committee’s Propaganda and Training Board Khamphanh Pheuyavong, Vice President of the National Assembly Sounthone Sayachak, Minister of Technology and Telecommunications Boviengkham Vondara (also President of the Lao-Vietnamese Friendship Association), Minister of Foreign Affairs Thongsavanh Phomvihane, Vientiane Mayor Atsaphangthong Siphandone, and Vietnamese Ambassador to Laos Nguyen Minh Tam.

The celebration also drew crowds of Vientiane residents, public security and national defense personnel, and students.

An auction of Phat Tich Temple paintings, held alongside the contest, raised nearly 300 million kip for the Lao National Assembly’s Social Assistance Fund.
