(KPL) Lao Minister of Foreign Affairs Thongsavanh Phomvihane and his delegation paid a courtesy call on Singaporean Prime Minister Lawrence Wong on Aug 12 during his official visit to Singapore from Aug 11–12.

Prime Minister Wong extended a warm welcome to the Lao delegation and highly valued the visit as an important contribution to strengthening the longstanding friendship and cooperation between the two countries.

Minister Thongsavanh expressed his appreciation for the warm hospitality and conveyed a message from Prime Minister Sonexay Siphandone to Prime Minister Wong.

He also offered congratulations and best wishes on the occasion of Singapore’s 60th National Day, celebrated on Aug 9, 2025.

Minister Thongsavanh expressed, on behalf of the Government and people of the Lao PDR, gratitude for Singapore’s valuable cooperation and assistance over the past years, particularly in human resource development, including English language and public administration training for Lao civil servants and senior leaders, as well as the deployment of volunteers, teachers, and experts to support community development across various provinces.

He also thanked Singapore for its support during Laos’ ASEAN chairmanship in 2024.
