KPL The Lao government has signed an agreement and announced the National Development Master Plan and Management Strategy for Vang Vieng and its surrounding areas, set to be implemented from 2025 to 2035.

 

(KPL)  The Lao government has signed an agreement and announced the National Development Master Plan and Management Strategy for Vang Vieng and its surrounding areas, set to be implemented from 2025 to 2035.

The plan is a collaboration between the Ministry of Information, Culture and Tourism, the Ministry of Public Works and Transport, the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment, the Vientiane Province Authority, the Vang Vieng District Authority, and private firms Hansen Partnership and Archineer Companies.

Focusing on sustainable tourism development, the master plan aims to involve public and business sectors while minimizing environmental impact. Covering 23,456 hectares, the plan includes urban areas, the Nam Xong River, and Vang Vieng’s valleys. The urban center spans 6,553 hectares, encompassing 15 villages, with the district’s core area covering 185 hectares.
