Cuban Leaders Extend Condolences Over Former President Khamtay’s Passing

KPL Cuban leaders have expressed their heartfelt condolences to the Lao leadership and people following the passing of General Khamtay Siphandone, former President of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party Central Committee and former State President.

(KPL) Cuban leaders have expressed their heartfelt condolences to the Lao leadership and people following the passing of General Khamtay Siphandone, former President of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party Central Committee and former State President.

In a message addressed to Party General Secretary and State President Thongloun Sisoulith, First Secretary of the Communist Party of Cuba and President of Cuba Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez, along with General Raúl Castro Ruz, conveyed their deep sorrow and sympathy.

“We would like to express our deepest condolences over the passing of Comrade Khamtay Siphandone,” the message read. “Comrade Siphandone was a key figure in the revolutionary struggle for national liberation and independence in Laos.”

The Cuban leaders praised General Khamtay’s pivotal role in strengthening the longstanding ties of friendship and solidarity between Laos and Cuba.

They noted that his contributions laid the foundation for a lasting legacy of bilateral relations, which continue to inspire future generations and serve as a model for revolutionaries worldwide.

The concluded by offering heartfelt sympathy to the Siphandone family and all Lao comrades and friends during this period of mourning.
