KPL On August 18 – The State Audit Organization (SAO) of Lao PDR welcomed a delegation of experts from Nanjing University of Auditing, China, for a workshop aimed at strengthening cooperation and sharing auditing expertise.

(KPL) On August 18 – The State Audit Organization (SAO) of Lao PDR welcomed a delegation of experts from Nanjing University of Auditing, China, for a workshop aimed at strengthening cooperation and sharing auditing expertise.

Mr. Toy Pholthilath, Vice President of the SAO, received the delegation led by Mr. Dier Yu, Head of the Audit Department, Faculty of Engineering, Nanjing University of Auditing. The visit included a workshop for SAO staff, with 25 participants, focusing on research-based audits, public procurement audits, and frontier audit techniques in the era of artificial intelligence.

In his remarks, Mr. Toy praised the contribution of the Chinese experts, especially Mr. Dier Yu, for supporting the development of auditing capacity in Laos. He noted that the visit further strengthened traditional relations, solidarity, and bilateral cooperation between Laos and China.

Mr. Dier Yu expressed gratitude for the warm welcome, emphasizing that the visit fostered friendship and enhanced collaboration between the SAO of Lao PDR and Nanjing University of Auditing under the framework of the Memorandum of Understanding with the National Audit Office of China.

During the workshop, both sides exchanged experiences on procurement and employment auditing. They discussed challenges, analyzed problems, and explored advanced auditing techniques in the era of artificial intelligence, while also reviewing the strengths and weaknesses of their respective systems.
