Head of External Relations Receives Farewell French Ambassador

ຂປລ On August 26, 2025, Mr. Bounleua Phandanouvong, Head of the Lao People’s Revolutionary Party Central Committee’s Commission for External Relations, received a farewell visit from Ms. Siv-Leng Chhuor, Ambassador of France to the Lao PDR.

(KPL) On August 26, 2025, Mr. Bounleua Phandanouvong, Head of the Lao People’s Revolutionary Party Central Committee’s Commission for External Relations, received a farewell visit from Ms. Siv-Leng Chhuor, Ambassador of France to the Lao PDR.

On the occasion, Mr. Bounleua welcomed the Ambassador and highly valued her achievements during her four-year tenure in Laos. He praised her active contributions in promoting and strengthening cooperative relations between Laos and France, which have steadily developed. He also expressed his gratitude for the continued support and assistance from the French government and people, particularly through the French Development Agency, which has played an important role in the development of the Lao PDR. He wished the Ambassador a safe journey home and success in her new responsibilities.

Ambassador Siv-Leng Chhuor expressed her gratitude for the warm reception and thanked the Lao Party and State for the facilitation provided to her diplomatic mission in Laos. She also commended the achievements of the Lao PDR in recent years, recalling the official visit of President Thongloun Sisoulith to France in 2024 as a milestone in bilateral relations. She reaffirmed her commitment to continue supporting efforts to strengthen Laos–France cooperation and achieve further progress.

Laos and France established diplomatic relations on October 22, 1953.
