At 8:00 a.m. on August 29, 2025, a tropical depression was located near 16.3°N latitude and 112.9°E longitude. The storm is moving northwest at about 20 km/h and is expected to reach land later the same day. It will bring heavy rain on August 29–30, 2025, before weakening as it moves inland.

The storm is expected to affect the northern and central regions of Laos, especially the following provinces between August 29–31, 2025: Luang Prabang, Vientiane Capital, Luang Namtha, Oudomxay, Phongsaly, Bokeo, Sayaboury, Xieng Khouang, Xaisomboun, and Vientiane Province.
The Department of Meteorology and Hydrology, Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment, advises the public—especially people in Vientiane Capital—to be careful and prepare for possible flooding. Those living near rivers, streams, and low-lying areas should stay alert to protect their safety and property.
