From students and young professionals to first-time hopefuls and seasoned runway walkers, the casting attracted a wide range of participants aged 16 to 30, many of whom had long dreamed of strutting down the catwalk in designs by Laos’ top fashion houses and international names.

This year’s judging panel featured industry experts, including renowned fashion designers, model mentors, and representatives from fashion brands such as Khang, Green Park Boutique Hotel, Eggamon, Pitnapat, Z Fashion TV, and MenFolder.

Ms. Phonetheva Xaysongkham, one of the casting judges, shared that this year’s turnout surpassed previous years, highlighting a growing interest in modeling among Lao youth. “We’re seeing more and more confident young people who are passionate about fashion and self-expression. It’s exciting,” she said.

Designer and casting judge Ms. Viengkham Nanthadouangsy, Founder of Khang, emphasized that Lao Fashion Week is more than just style—it’s a celebration of Lao identity through textile and design. “We want to promote Lao products and cultural expression. It’s truly inspiring to see so many applicants this year. For future hopefuls, focus on your runway walk, confidence, and facial expressions,” she advised.

Among the hopefuls were students from different academic backgrounds who shared their enthusiasm and pride in joining the event.
