Experts told reporters that the storms will be caused by solar plasma ejection heading toward the planet, leading to an M2.76-level flare on the Sun.
“Solar matter will reach Earth’s orbit on September 2, triggering G2-G4 magnetic storms (on a five-point scale),” the agency’s solar astronomy laboratory informed on its Telegram channel.
The Russian agency noted that the largest danger lies in repeated plasma emissions, which are “highly likely given the high estimates of the total energy reserves of solar flares.”
