ຂປລ The Department of Meteorology and Hydrology has warned that Tropical Depression LingLing will affect Laos from 16–19 August, bringing heavy rain, thunderstorms, and strong winds across many provinces.


(KPL) The Department of Meteorology and Hydrology has warned that Tropical Depression LingLing will affect Laos from 16–19 August, bringing heavy rain, thunderstorms, and strong winds across many provinces.

The storm, forming in the South China Sea, is expected to strengthen into a tropical cyclone by 17 August and move toward central Vietnam.

16–17 August: Heavy rainfall is forecast for Vientiane Capital, Vientiane Province, Xaysomboun, Bolikhamxai, Khammouane, Savannakhet, Salavan, Champasak, Sekong, and Attapeu.

18–19 August: Conditions will extend to northern provinces including Phongsaly, Huaphan, Xieng Khouang, Oudomxay, Bokeo, Luang Namtha, Luang Prabang, and Xayaboury.

Residents are urged to stay alert for flash floods, landslides, and urban flooding, and to follow official updates.
