(KPL) 7-Eleven has officially opened its first branch in Thakhek District, Khammouane Province, marking a significant milestone in the province’s service and tourism development. The Ban Nabo branch was inaugurated in a special ceremony presided over by Mr. Bounmy Phimmasone, President of the Provincial People’s Council of Khammouane Province, alongside numerous distinguished guests and community members.

Strategically located along the Mekong River in the heart of Thakhek, the new store aims to serve as a modern hub for both locals and visitors, offering 24-hour convenience in one of the region’s key cultural and tourism zones.

The branch is managed by Mrs. Phetdaovy Butthavong, a 46-year-old Lao entrepreneur with a strong background in real estate and tourism. Her vision for the store extends beyond retail, emphasizing the enhancement of tourism, community service, and job creation.

“Modern retail stores like 7-Eleven provide convenience and access to quality, standardized products at any time of day,” said Mrs. Butthavong. “Our goal is to not only support local livelihoods but also attract and accommodate more tourists, ultimately boosting economic activities in the area.”

She highlighted the store’s potential to generate both direct and indirect employment for local residents, while also serving as a training ground for young people in customer service and business operations—key skills that will contribute to the long-term development of the region.

“7-Eleven is a highly recognized brand, offering a wide range of quality products supported by a strong management system,” Mrs. Butthavong added. “With the guidance and support of the CP All Lao team in planning, investment, and staff training, we are confident in our ability to achieve sustainable growth, foster local careers, and instill a sense of pride in the Lao community.”

The opening of this store marks a significant step in CP All Lao’s “Lao People to Lao People” initiative, aimed at empowering local entrepreneurs and building community-driven business models that support inclusive economic development.

The Ban Nabo branch stands as a symbol of progress and collaboration—blending global retail standards with local expertise to uplift Khammouane Province’s growing role in Lao tourism and commerce.
